“We all need someone who inspires us to do better than we know how” – Anonymous

As I sat down at my desk, thinking of a subject for this blog, it was fair to say I was looking for a spark of inspiration. And then it hit me, like a bolt of lightning! My inspiration for this offering will be, inspiration.  

Have you ever thought how incredible it is that all it takes is one or two people to change a person’s life?  Inspiring others is a real superpower. It has a lifelong impact. And do you know what? We all have it! 

All it takes is the right moment and the right person. And BOOM! You are transformed into someone’s very own hero, even if they themselves don’t know it.  So, with that in mind I would like to tell you who inspired me and how it changed my life.

Rewind almost 20 years ago…  

Around this time, I started going to Hot House (formally EMYJO) and that is when something started to ignite in me. At first it was just to be a better musician, but then it was something more. All the staff there were so kind and had a way of drawing the best out of people (and still do). I wanted to be like that no matter what I did with my life. 

A few years down the line I was asked to do some teaching. This was not something I ever considered I would be capable of doing but knowing someone thought I could be enough. All I thought was:

“Someone believes in me and I can be more than I am” 

From that day on, my life had taken a dramatic turn for the better and continues to get better with the same spark of inspiration still burning strong today and the people who inspired me, Indeed the company that inspired me still does.  

We all need some inspiration to get started and we should always try to be a source of inspiration to people – or as a friend of mine would say:

“Be an invisible hero”
