The Magic of Music

Whilst this could easily be a blog based solely on the music in Pixar Films (I know I personally listen to The Incredibles once a week https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voLQroAnoLI), it is going to talk more about how music creates life-long connections through a common passion. There will also be Pixar and Disney mentions as well don’t worry.

So why does music have the power to create these connections? I think this Louis Armstrong quote sums it up (and it is funny) “All Music is Folk Music. I ain’t never heard a horse sing a song”. https://www.mymusicmasterclass.com/40-funny-quotes-by-musicians/

We all have the ability to make music. It holds such an important part in our daily lives and at times we don’t even know it. It makes us feel different emotions. I know I am holding in tears every time I watch the opening of Up which is helped by the amazing music underneath https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yjAFMNkCDo. I also know that I want to cover my ears whenever I hear the Go Compare Man sing his jingle on the advert… Granted… this is amazing advertising. Music has the ability to bring us all together and create these emotions. https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/science-choice/201908/music-emotion-and-well-being

Legacy and Memories

Creating music is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. At Hot House Music, we see the fun and laughter that our children and adult members have in the rehearsal room and they take this out into the wider world. Our recent VOX talks with Alumni members highlighted the fun that they had through their time with Hot House and they recall fantastic memories and friendships that they made as well as how their time at Hot House has impacted their adult life. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvaaAfl7TpI3CCadnqBwGrLJgYLTQttuH

This is part of our lasting legacy where we celebrate the fantastic people our students have become. We are equally proud of those that have pursued careers outside of music and who continue to use the skills they learnt whilst at Hot House to be exceptional individuals and leaders in their chosen fields.

We all have stories about growing up with music and we wouldn’t change them for the world. https://www.classicfm.com/discover-music/musician-sibling-problems/
